I used to know a Pastor and all he could ever say is ” Pray, pray, pray” to the point I got tired of praying. Bless him, he surely inspired me and others to keep praying. I remember keep looking at my fellow peers checking if they really praying too. One thing for sure, a lot of prayers and spiritual warfare prayers were going on, pray and pray till you run out of breath ? Pastor Girma, am sure you will smile reading this.
Prayer is hard work, tiring work, physical work—but prayer is essential to victory. I struggled, I fought in prayers. Have you ever experienced something similar?
Hard work, struggle, suffering, wrestling with God—these difficult experiences are often the prerequisites to victory. We desperately need to understand what it means to persist in prayer believing by faith God will answer in His own time.
David prayed with his arms raised, putting his mind, spirit, and body into his prayer. May be we should take his example.
What is your prayer type? A Hannah prayer or Jonah prayer from the bible ?
What about praying for others, one another ?
When we pray for others, when we uphold each other in prayer, we experience a blessing we can never know by any other means on earth. When we pray for God’s work, we become partners with God.

The Bible gives us many examples of prayer characters. From Hannah, to Daniel to David and so many others.
The Old Testament prophet Daniel was a great man of God and a great man of prayer. He became an advisor to kings because of who he was in secret on his knees before God.
Daniel prayed three times a day—morning, noon, and night. He always prayed facing Jerusalem, the city of his childhood. Daniel remembered Jerusalem as the site of the great temple. He gave thanks to God and asked God for help. That type of prayer surely notify us of some serious prayers going on here. A prayer warrior and obedient servant waiting patiently for his answers.
So how often you pray per day ?
Ultimately, effective prayer—the prayer that God delights in answering—must be firmly rooted in the promises of God. Prayers that violate and do not align with God’s word are useless and simply wasteful. Daniel’s prayer is rooted firmly in the promises of God, which He established in His covenant.
